Welcome to the 10ticks Newsletter and thank you for visiting our website.
Using the 10ticks site
How can you use the 10ticks website? As a User you get extra functions
controlled from your User Area. Here you can see your or your child's progress.
How ? Login and try some questions from the Helps in the Student area and then
come back and look at your scores. You will be able to dissect the scores into
different topic types and find weaknesses. These topics can be worked on to
improve your average in that area. The more sets of Help questions you do the
more valuable the information you can find out. This could be for you or for
your child. Set up different account for each of you and see who can get the
better scores!!! Learn-a-long-with-your-child.
Help Section
We are currently working on the level 5 Helps in the Student area. We expect
half of the level 5 Helps to be finished by Christmas. Remember the scores are
only recorded into your User Area when you are logged in.

Games
The Games in the games station are there to stimulate mathematical thinking.
Some are aimed directly at the National Curriculum others at creative thinking.
The National Curriculum Games (Pac Math and Count Down) are targeted at
improving number skills. The games are set up in stages, these are basic
teaching progressions that have to be mastered before successfully moving on to
the next one. These stages can be viewed in the Help area of the games. The
game finishes when the player doesn't grasp the new concept offered at that
stage. Hence you can diagnose a child's ability level by the stage they reach.
(This is known as differentiation by fallout). Read the help notes on the games
for further details.
