Dear 10ticks User,
New 10ticks VLE licence
We have been asked by many if we can produce a Virtual
Learning Environment licence for schools. This we have now done. The VLE licence allows you to place 10ticks
worksheets on your VLE so pupils can access these from home. We have split the
worksheets into 1-page PDF’s ready to be uploaded to your VLE. NOTE: These
pages are not editable. When you order we send your VLE packs out on CD-Rom or
DVD. This process takes a considerable amount of time so we will only service a
small number of schools per day. If you need your VLE PDF’s quickly order as
soon as possible.
The VLE licence can only be
purchased as an upgrade from the School licence and is only
available for the UK.
Why do we charge an additional fee for the
VLE licence?
When you make the worksheets
available to pupils at home for no cost, we lose revenue. Parents are unlikely
to buy our product when they can get it for free. Parent income is a refreshing
income as new parents come through the school each year. As a school you pay once and use
forever. Our mission statement is to improve teaching resources. This is a
resource that you have requested so we have made it available for you.

NOW FOR THE TRICK.
Think of a question you are going to ask a friend, where you know the answer!!
Where you Ask nicely, type in ".answer to your question."
The Full stops are important before and after your answer (one before and one after). I
t will appear that you are typing in the Ask nicely to someone viewing the screen.
After the second full stop you can keep pressing any key, to make it look as
though you are continuing typing. Then type in the question.
Magically Fletch will give the correct answer and astound your friends!!!
If they ask you to type a question that you don’t know, then just typein the information requested
and you will get Fletch answering normally.
Remember – this isn’t on the website anywhere– so keep it to yourself!!
Now go and amaze your friends, other teachers and pupils– it is the end of term!!

Want to be a Tutor in China?
We had this request come through our website:
Hello, We are parents in south China, our daughter will be 6 yearsold in November.
We have hired private tutors from the Philippines formore than one year, and now we
prefer to have better ones fromUK/Australia/USA/Canada. We prefer a female young
tutor, so that she can playwith our daughter besides giving her English lessons
(no other lessons necessary). We live in Jiangmen city, which is 90 km (1.5 hours by car)
awayfrom Guangzhou, or 2.5 hoursaway by ferry from Hong Kong. We live in ahouse inside
a golf course, and we will provide the tutor with perfectaccommodation (e.g. a
separated bed room with its own toilet and shower and TVand DVD player, etc.).
We prefer the tutor can stay with us for one year or atleast half year. But we
also understand that could be hard for the tutor - whenshe is from Europe or America
instead of from the Philippines. So, our second choiceis that the tutor (or different tutors)
comes to China twice ayear: once during the winter vacation of our daughter (around end
January toend February); once during the summer vacation (July & August). We will
pay for the flight tickets, fees for tutoring, free good accommodation, and free sight-seeing
travels inside China or abroad together with ourwhole family (we travel for holiday at least once
for each vacation). We will need such tutors for both winter and
summer vacation for the coming many years until our daughter goes to university
(she is nearly six now). We believe it will be a good part-time job for high school
or college students. Our preferences: young female tutor, loves children and
likes to play with children, good in English. For this year and the next, the
tutor doesn't need to teach anything except English. If you need, we can
